Pittsburgh, PA: Lewis-Goetz and Company, Inc. (“Lewis-Goetz” or the “Company”) announced it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Industrial Rubber & Supply of Decatur, AL (IR&S). IR&S is a distributor of gaskets, seals and hose assemblies specializing in the fabrication and supply of these products to a variety of industrial customers in the northern Alabama market. The acquisition was effective January 1, 2011.

In commenting on the acquisition, Jeff Crane, President and CEO of Lewis-Goetz said, “The geography and end markets were particularly interesting to us. Getting to know the management team and their plans for future growth simply reinforced what a great combination these two companies could be.”

Todd Davis, who will remain with the company and continue as the branch manager of the Decatur location said of the acquisition, “We feel this is the best way to bring positive change to our industry. I think this acquisition says good things about the future of our local marketplace.” Rick Hames, a veteran of the industrial rubber industry will also remain as a consultant.
